Remember the days when we were still young and still knew everything? :)

Came across a great blog post, talking about some current church trends – the way some talk about “community” and “authenticity” as if they’ve just invented these terms, under the influence of generational myopia: older people, as he points out, suffer from this myopia when they see the way things were in their youth as so much better than they are now, but the younger generation tend towards the myopic “our generation is the only one that gets it” attitude, and are “quick to see things with a clarity that managed to elude all previous generations” – so sad but so true! Haven’t we all been young once, feeling we are the only ones who can grasp the truth, we are the only ones who can see the obvious solutions to the world’s ills, and if only we shout loud enough then those old fuddy-duddies will get it too… (Am I sounding middle-aged? :) )

  1. I still haven’t posted any quotes from this article! I’m hoping to get caught up on posts this week. I still have one about the Sierra Club to post as well. *sigh*

I want to read back through more of that guy’s posts as well. That one on the myopic, though, spot on.
